4  Downloading eBooks at Your Library
Event Type: Adult Date: Wednesday, Jan 4 Start Time: 2 PM End Time: 3:30 PMDescription: One of five drop-in sessions focused on downloading eBooks through the Sno-Isle Libraries website. During these informal sessions, library staff will help people learn about the library’s downloadable collection and offer support in setting up their e-Readers in order to access the library’s digital offerings. Please bring your device and if you have one, a laptop, to the session that you attend. A Sno-Isle Libraries card is needed to download books and other items.

6  TOWN HALL MEETING  Senator Mary Margaret Haugen will have a Town Hall Meeting on Friday, Jan. 6, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., at the Stanwood Public Utility District building at 9124 271st St. NW. Since this is during business hours, please be considerate and park nearby so as to leave spaces in the PUD lot for its customers. 
 
10  The Stanwood-Camano Friends of the Library monthly meeting will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10 in the library meeting room at Stanwood Library meeting room 9701 - 271st St. NW. The Friends will discuss old and new business. The Friends are the generous folks who help raise funds for library programs for children, teens, and adults. Everyone is welcome!
 
10  Librarians as Information Guides: Downloading eBooks at Your Library Event Type: Adult Date: Tuesday, January 10Start Time: 1:30 PM End Time: 3:30 PMDescription: Learn to download free eBooks and audiobooks through Sno-Isle's website. If you’d like to download a book during class, please bring your laptop and eReader or audio device, or your Wi-Fi enabled device. Seating is limited, please preregister. Funded by The Paul G. Allen Family Foundation and Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation.
 
11  Stanwood Book Group: Room: A Novel

15  The Camano Island Zumba fitness team is hosting a 3 hour ZUMBATHON.  The event is taking place Sunday, January 15th from 2pm-5pm at the Stanwood High School Gym.   We will have Zumbatomic for the kiddo’s as well as child care so bring the whole family.  Join us for all or part of this 3 hours dance party.  A raffle full of fun items as well as snacks and water will be available for sale. Pre buy your $10 discounted ticket at Eagles Nest, Twin City Collision, Serenity Salon or Huntington Grocery.  Tickets at the door are $15.  This Zumbathon is  to benefit the graduating class of 2012 & provide a safe event for them after graduation.

Our RFL event is an overnight event which takes place June 2nd-3rd. Teams assemble and walk throughout the night to symbolize that cancer never sleeps, so neither will we! 21  The Camano Center's 2012 Crab Fest will be held on Saturday, January 21st from 3:30-7:00 at the Center, 606 Arrowhead Road. This year's Crab Fest will feature live music by the South End String Slingers. Price is $18 for Center members, and $20 for non-members; please bring your own crab crackers if you can!
